Join Us for The Big Conversation with Paul Carrick Brunson
On 07 February this year I received an email from a dear friend in New York. She’s a Brooklynite and we hung out a lot when I lived there for a brief period in 2008. We’ve remained close friends and always catch up when she’s in London or I’m over there. We’ve spent countless hours on Skype talking about work, family and our love lives.
Her email was a bit of a surprise. She explained that she was going to work on her relationship approach with a unique and dynamic couple called Paul and Jill Carrick Brunson who run a relationship coaching service called OneDegreeFrom.Me. They needed her closest friends to answer a questionnaire about her ahead of a consultation she was to have with them. So I did. Two weeks later we spoke at length on the phone about her consultancy session and she gave me her feedback on the whole experience with OneDegreeFrom.Me
Paul Carrick Brunson taught me to think outside the box when dating, in terms of broadening my circle of potential candidates. One of his mottos is you should always have a series of men dating you or interested in you (my words not his).
He taught me to have a love mentor. Someone I can look to as an example, someone who will put me in check and someone who will help me evaluate my options. Paul helped me “re-realize” my fabulousness.
Needless to say she thoroughly recommends PCB. And the rest of what she told me blew my mind away, it was so impressive and such a fresh angle that I thought this needs to be done over here in the UK. I listened intently to her explanation of OneDegreeFrom.Me’s services and the way they worked with their clients. I was particularly impressed with the social media dynamic they adopted and seriously considered what it would take to set something like that up over here. But now it seems there’s no need to imitate it. Paul is bringing the original straight to us.
OneDegreeFrom.Me is The Big Conversation
What Paul Carrick Brunson has done with OneDegreeFrom.Me in just one year is outstanding. Paul provides a one-to-one, tailor-made service for his clients (he’s affectionately referred to as the real-life Hitch). Primarily, though not exclusively, he caters for ambitious, cultured, professional men & women of colour who are money rich & time poor. In the United States Paul has grown to become a highly influential and respected male voice in a largely female dominated industry. Aside from his personal clients, his more than 27,000 active Twitter & Facebook followers are in constant dialogue with him. Read that again. Yes, all regularly active in dialogue with him. Never before has a relationship coach been able to penetrate & affect a 25 – 37-year-old male AND female demographic to this extent.
In June 2011 Warner Bros. announced that Paul will star alongside the US renowned celebrity medic Dr.Drew in a new, weekly TV series called Life Changers. The show focuses on people going through major life-changing events and is set to debut this September 2011. Paul also served as the first male speaker for the 2011 Black Enterprise Women of Power Conference and was the keynote speaker for the 2011 iDate Conference, one of the largest Internet dating conferences in the USA.
Why I’m Telling You This
So imagine my surprise and joy when Ivy Munro contacted me in July, exactly 6 months after my friends email, to invite me to join the panel of The Big Conversation, an event created by them to introduce OneDegreeFrom.Me to Britain. I accepted the invitation immediately and then kicked myself at not getting all the media information over to them on time to have my face on the official flier alongside such illustrious heroes of mine as Angie Le Mar, Charlene White and a host of other big names. Nevermind.
Join in The Big Conversation
The Big Conversation takes place on Saturday 17 September at The Clapham Grand and I think you should be there. The Big Conversation is a daytime conference focused on social interaction and the male/female relationship dynamic. The discussion will go far beyond the surface – Paul will share his insights and findings on love, sex, dating and traditional & modern gender roles. He’ll blow up myths, break-down statistics and discredit the scare-mongering media headlines.
The Big Conversation will be the first of its kind in Britain and will serve as Brunson’s introduction to the UK. The primary aim of the event is to challenge us to start thinking differently in order to get the best from all of our personal and professional relationships.

This event looks amazing. Only If I was in town. London ask these folks some tough questions. All Star lineup should be an all star delivery.
Please right a follow up for those of us that can’t make it.
See you there, i have my ticket and i am looking forward to listening to everyone’s points of view.
Yes I heard about this event; the ever so dynamic, Simone Bresi-Ando will be on the panel so I am sure it will be interesting. I doubt if I can make it as I will be London Fashion Weeking on that day and going to the BUFFs later (damm, why do all the good events happen at the same time?) but I am sure you will represent. Try not to get decimated by Simone – LOL she really knows how to rip people to shreds.
Sounds like a big event! I want to hear Paul’s views- particularly on the male/female relationship dynamic..could help me with mine to be honest!
Wow, seems like a huge line up. It shall be very interesting to hear the findings and opinions of the people who are attending.
Will be good to see what people I aspire to say about love and sex in the afro-carribbean industry.
I got my ticket weeks ago, and I didn’t know it was going to be such a big event! I’m looking forward to it even more now!
